On Wednesday, March 28th, 2012 the Brooklyn Architects Scholarship Foundation honored four distinguished architects for their services and achievements in the advancement of the architectural profession at the El Caribe Country Club in Brooklyn. The honorees Richard Ferrara, AIA, Gerald I. Goldstein, AIA, John Gallagher, AIA and Ira Gluckman, AIA were presented with awards as well as a gift expressing our sincerest acknowledgement of all their efforts.

The Brooklyn Architects Scholarship Foundation, Inc. was formed to raise funds toward architectural scholarships to qualified students. The success and development of the Foundation could not be possible without the continued support and endless dedication of our members and sponsors, especially the officers and directors for their countless hours of organization and dedication to our Chapter.

The evening had a surreal feeling. The background music was reminiscent of the first class dinner scene in the movie the “Titanic”. It was wonderfully simple yet extremely prestigious to be surrounded by so many prominent leaders in our profession and industry. Each honoree was introduced by one of their close colleagues. The master of ceremonies for the evening was Glen Cutrona, AIA, who truly missed his calling, as he kept us all entertained throughout the entire evening.

Many, many thanks to the Scholarship Foundation officers: Dmitriy Shenker, AIA, President; Frank LoPresto, AIA, President Elect; Anthony Marchese, AIA, Treasurer; Sebastian D’Alessandro, AIA, Secretary; Peter J. Mugavero, AIA, Immediate Past President; as well as the Dinner Dance Committee for all their time and efforts in making the evening a great success.
